Marbella may not be known for its museums and art galleries, although it has much to offer. The main museums in Marbella are diverse, ranging from the truly unique Bonsai Museum (Museo del Bonsai) in the Parque Arroyo de la Represa, to Marbella's popular Contemporary Engraving Museum (Museo del Grabado Espanol Contemporáneo).

For art lovers visiting Marbella, the arts scene here is becoming well developed, with Marbella's top art galleries and art museums including the popular Municipal Exposition Gallery (Galeria Municipal de Exposiciones) and the Casa Grande gallery, both of which attract a range of changing exhibitions by artists from all over the world.


Bonsai Museum (Museo del Bonsai)

One of Marbella's most unusual museums, the Museo del Bonsai is situated in the vast Parque Arroyo de la Represa and contains a large collection of meticulously groomed miniature trees. With many surprisingly large bonsai trees, rock plantings, and landscaped areas with a real oriental feel, the city's Bonsai Museum also features a number of naturally dwarfed trees which were collected from the nearby mountains.

Contemporary Engraving Museum (Museo del Grabado Espanol Contemporáneo)

Featuring a valuable collection of art works, the Contemporary Engraving Museum is one of Marbella's most important museums. Housed in an old hospital building which dates back to the 1500s, the Museo del Grabado Espanol Contemporáneo contains many historic and elaborate engravings, together with art works by famous artists, such as Picasso and Miro, amongst others. Guided tours of the exhibitions are available.

Municipal Exposition Gallery (Galeria Municipal de Exposiciones)

Marbella's Municipal Exposition Gallery can be found in the city centre and offers a number of temporary exhibitions throughout the year. Both Spanish and international artists exhibit their paintings, sculptures, photographs and ceramics here, in the various galleries provided.

Casa Grande

Although only a relatively new addition to the Marbella arts scene, being founded at the end of the 20th century, the Casa Grande offers a spacious gallery area, with changing exhibitions of paintings and sculptures. Works by famous international artists are often on display here.
